Fall Fun!

This is definitely the busiest time of year! It's been a few months since we've updated the blog. We've got some catching up to do!

OCTOBER 2011

This was a great month. Riley had lots of fun playing with friends and family. But, most of all, Halloween! This was the first year that Riley could really participate in trick-or-treating. It was so much fun to dress him up and take him around the neighborhood. He loved it! We went with our friends, The Carters. He would follow Olivia and Reagan to the door, knock, and then as soon as the door would open, he would turn and run! Which was okay by Mommy and Daddy, since he didn't need the candy anyway. But, his favorite part of Halloween was being back at home, answering the door when trick-or-treaters would come. Who knew that a toddler would like that part the best. For several days following Halloween, he would go to the door with the candy basket asking where did everyone go. We had to explain that Halloween was over and we'd have to wait til next year.

DECEMBER 2011

Riley had a lot of fun helping us decorate our tree this year. He is really getting into the spirit of Christmas. He is so excited for Santa to come and Mommy and Daddy really like how he tries to be a good boy. Too bad we can't use the Santa excuse all year long!

December is officially the busiest month of the year for our family. With Riley's birthday being on the 10th and Christmas not long after, the month just seems to fly by with something to do everyday. His 2nd birthday party was so much fun. We had it at FunStation, Jr., a place full of bounce houses and arcade type games. Our friends and family came to help us celebrate. Hard to believe it's been two years already!

So blurry, but still captures how much fun he's having!

So cute!

Back at home enjoying some of his birthday gifts
Pooped out after a long, but fun 2nd birthday!

Riley helped Mommy make Christmas cookies. He kept saying, "a bite" because he just wanted to eat them! Who can blame him, cookies are yummy!

Our MOM's Club annual gingerbread house decorating playgroup. What a fun time! Riley really enjoyed this. I was actually surprised at how much. He at most of it too!

Checking out his house before the icing goes on
As you can see, he ate some while we were decorating it!

Mmmm, good!

More fun with friends at our MOM's Club annual cookie exchange.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy Christmas. We are so excited for Santa to come. Riley is going to be so surprised when he sees what Santa brought for him this year. Mommy and Daddy can't wait!

Look at these two handsome boys!

It's Fall Y'all!

Fall means football season in our house! Riley is really getting into the Gators. He loves it when we all have on our gator gear. For some reason he just doesn't get that excited about Mommy's Seminoles. Huh....go figure!

Riley has really started talking in the past couple of weeks. He is repeating everything we say, which is a bit scary, since what comes out of my mouth isn't always rated G! I have learned to substitute some words, and gosh is one of them. He walks around saying GOSH! He sounds like a yankee when he says it. It's so cute!

He does test my patience these days too. Who ever made  up, "the terrible two's" was absolutely 100% correct! Mr. Independence, at least he likes to think so. All of the foods he used to eat with no problem, nope, not anymore. I think his favorite word is NO! Oh, and mommy says don't run away, okay see ya! I just don't know how people do it with more than one kid. I am seriously re-thinking having another one.

We went to the pumpkin patch with our playgroup today. He was non-stop, running through all of the pumpkins. I could barely keep up. There was one pile of dirt off to the side, away from the pumpkins, and yes, he found it and down he went, face first. Typical! But what else do you expect from an almost two year old!?

Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween! We'll post pictures from our first year of trick-or-treating. Wish us luck!
