happy spring!

We are so behind on updating the blog. Who could have imagined that life would be so busy with a two year old! Time to catch everyone up on The Life of Riley. Lots of old pictures and some new. Here goes...

I forgot to upload my camera before my last post and recently found the pictures from Riley's first trip to the fair last November.

Ooooh, look at the animals!

Not too sure about feeding them

Mmmm, a carrot!

Whoa, the animals could stick their heads out really far!

We had a wonderful Christmas. Riley was very excited for Santa to come. He got a new train set and table. Wonder how we're going to top that this year?! A big thanks to Grampa Sam for all of his hard work with building and painting Riley's new play table!

Happy New Year 2012

We started the year off right with a trip to one of our local fire stations with our MOM's Club friends. Riley really had fun! He wanted to climb up into the truck when no one else did. He was so excited to see it up close.

We took Riley to see his first circus when it came to town. He really enjoyed it! The elephants were his favorite. We also took a few trips to our local Tallahassee Museum to play and see some more animals.

The elephants are coming...

OMG...my first REAL live elephant!!!

This elephant was pretty old... poor thing :( But R didn't know any different

February was also a big month for Riley Thomas! He finally realized that he could climb out of his crib whenever he wanted, so Tom and I had no choice but to convert his crib into the toddler bed! YAY! So exciting!!! Except, I had no idea just how much it would alter our perfect bedtime routine. Yikes! It has finally worked itself out, 2 months later... hope I don't jinx us!

This was a great month for us too. Well, sort of. The bedtime routine became a real challenge for us. Riley enjoyed his new freedom from his crib, while getting really sick all at the same time. There were a lot of sleepless nights for Mommy. Oh, and did I mention he started using the big boy potty too!

Fall Fun!

This is definitely the busiest time of year! It's been a few months since we've updated the blog. We've got some catching up to do!

OCTOBER 2011

This was a great month. Riley had lots of fun playing with friends and family. But, most of all, Halloween! This was the first year that Riley could really participate in trick-or-treating. It was so much fun to dress him up and take him around the neighborhood. He loved it! We went with our friends, The Carters. He would follow Olivia and Reagan to the door, knock, and then as soon as the door would open, he would turn and run! Which was okay by Mommy and Daddy, since he didn't need the candy anyway. But, his favorite part of Halloween was being back at home, answering the door when trick-or-treaters would come. Who knew that a toddler would like that part the best. For several days following Halloween, he would go to the door with the candy basket asking where did everyone go. We had to explain that Halloween was over and we'd have to wait til next year.

Playing at the park.

DECEMBER 2011

Riley had a lot of fun helping us decorate our tree this year. He is really getting into the spirit of Christmas. He is so excited for Santa to come and Mommy and Daddy really like how he tries to be a good boy. Too bad we can't use the Santa excuse all year long!

December is officially the busiest month of the year for our family. With Riley's birthday being on the 10th and Christmas not long after, the month just seems to fly by with something to do everyday. His 2nd birthday party was so much fun. We had it at FunStation, Jr., a place full of bounce houses and arcade type games. Our friends and family came to help us celebrate. Hard to believe it's been two years already!

So blurry, but still captures how much fun he's having!

Pooped out after a long, but fun 2nd birthday!

Riley helped Mommy make Christmas cookies. He kept saying, "a bite" because he just wanted to eat them! Who can blame him, cookies are yummy!

Our MOM's Club annual gingerbread house decorating playgroup. What a fun time! Riley really enjoyed this. I was actually surprised at how much. He at most of it too!

Checking out his house before the icing goes on
As you can see, he ate some while we were decorating it!

Mmmm, good!

More fun with friends at our MOM's Club annual cookie exchange.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy Christmas. We are so excited for Santa to come. Riley is going to be so surprised when he sees what Santa brought for him this year. Mommy and Daddy can't wait!

Look at these two handsome boys!

Merry (almost) Christmas!!! xoxo
